Another late post. Training, studies, Glee practices and other extra curricular activities are making it harder for me to post here. But I will try and catch up.
Last November 22, 2019, San Juan City held its Division meet. The top winners here will represent San Juan City in the National Capital Region (NCR) Meet. I have been fortunate enough to represent San Juan City last 2016 and 2017. Last 2018, I was injured and passed on joining the meet, but now I’m back.
San Juan City meet was held in Rizal High School in Pasig City. One of my wishes is that San Juan City will have its own Track Oval. Ever since I’ve started running in track ovals, we’ve had to travel in other cities to train. Cities like Pasig, Makati and Marikina which surround San Juan City have their own Track Ovals. I hope that the San Juan City Government would soon build their own Track Oval.
We arrived at the venue at around 6:00 am since the gun time for the 3000 meter dash was set at 7:00 am. Unfortunately, due to the lack of organizers and a little bit of poor planning, the race did not start until 9:00 am. I salute the organizers, teachers, coaches and others who give their time to make this event great. Despite that, this should have been a better event if there was full support from the Government.
We started the race with the boys as there are only a few participants for both boys and girls mid-distance runners. This was the same for the 1500 and 800 meter dash.
For the results, I was 1st for the 3000 meter dash and 2nd for both the 1500 and 800 meter dash. I’m very excited to represent my school (Immaculate Conception Academy) and San Juan City in the up-coming NCR Meet this 2020. Hope to do better as competition is very tough there.
Bye for now and on to the next race.
